Use OpenAPI to discover paths, parameters, request and response schemas, and authentication requirements. Validate generated requests against the contract, but separately test the live service for status codes, response shapes and authentication behavior using safe non-destructive probes. Report contract drift explicitly rather than assuming the specification proves implementation behavior.
